synthesis over replacement
Evan's A Small Observation of Artificial Intelligence questions replacing natural intelligence with AI. Having seen such frequent fearmongering along those lines, it's convincing me that clearly anti-AI people like him yearn for replacement. As the recent AI discourse shows, they already splurge on the topic. Why not go the full distance and abdicate full responsibility?
Contrary to diminishing effects of posts linked on large platforms, I'd love to see more beneficial effects from posts linked on large and small platforms. I see that framing as downstream from Evan's agreement with Herman's Discovery and AI on preferring curation over exclusion. Speaking of exclusion: the conflict between nature and artifacts is discussed endlessly, but we seem to forget that there's synthesis in the middle.
