stubborn horses
You can bring a horse to water but you can only make it drink so much.
Helping people solve problems feels great. Them opting for incremental change over an optimal, socialized solution at nearly equal cost hurts. However, many don't want help, let alone the best help. Particularly for matters not concerning my bottom line, I can accept what outcomes they stumble upon and move on.
Overall, there's value in tempering my overall influence and realigning my focus. I can spend my energy on whom will receive it best. For those receptive to maximal success, I can allocate the due diligence of intensive research. Otherwise, I can optimize my own resource spend on the matter. I see how this strategy could balance maximizing benefits and minimizing both quantifiable and emotional costs.
From the opposite perspective, what stops me from executing upon others' researched solutions for myself?
