Imperfect

publish your drafts

Inspired by Dabi's Not finding the words.

Ever since I started posting here, I too have kept drafts waiting to be published. As it stands, I have more than double the amount of drafts as I do published posts. Whether those drafts will ever be posted is a good question. I'd hope so, whether they would be posted as is or, ideally, polished up.

Recording drafts is a great practice that gives you time to cook. Yet, publishing rough drafts can match or exceed the value of published posts. Showcasing your process can reveal insights you or others wouldn't have learned otherwise.

Enough inputs can transform a draft into an entirely different work. There have been times where I drafted a post, only to break off a piece to eventually publish.

Sometimes, I surprise myself by publishing a post long after creation. Giving myself time and constantly engaging new ideas helps push me through writer's block. Even if those approaches don't work, I need not rush myself. There is no deadline.

Every idea you share can be a springboard for yourself and others. I find this clear as others' ideas inspire my posts all the time, so I support sharing as much as you're comfortable to.
