bait

Being immersed in bait can also be a problem of your own or your cultivated audience. That can occur on any platform, whether it's Twitter, somewhere else on the Internet, or in real life. If the content keeping you somewhere isn't enjoyable, find what's enjoyable. The same goes for the people.

evasion

Adopt a change of scenery. Repurpose how you use your tools. Look in places you wouldn't expect to find what you want. Revisit once forbidden zones to extract the good from the bad or update your priors. Self-help can be more open-ended and exploratory than finding the next best ad-free vessel of Internet writing.

ads

Speaking of ads, use ad block. Use websites, products, and services that don't serve up ads. The Internet is one giant network of advertisements both commercial and personal. Your blog post and its subject matter, recommendations, and links are advertisements. Keep in mind that advertisements not only have superficial, but also subliminal messages. What certain wording instructs not to do may very well become what you proceed to do.

show

Show don't tell. Showing your friends how well certain tools help you get what you want can encourage them over the hump of adoption. Make the benefits of a practice self-evident and others will force themselves toward it.

numbers

Numbers aren't forcing you to look at them. Whether numbers are available or unavailable, people still worry. Train yourself to ignore or even float with the numbers. For that matter, one could inquire, "What numbers?" If you feel compelled to focus on numbers, you can choose to focus inward. Seeing those numbers increase or improve as a result of your efforts can give much needed momentum.

Writing a blog, or even writing in any form is one of infinite expressions. There is at least one form of expression out there for everyone. Someone making the excuse that there is nothing that applies to them is ironically their expression. Even the dead and those never born have expressed themselves. Heartbeats, breaths, kicks. Openness to opportunity and interpretation can get you and others far.

fulfillment

Create what you wish existed. The genius with your calling in mind is within you. You know yourself better than I ever will. If you say you don't, cast a wide net and find out what captivates you.
