letter to looper
Hi Looper,
Thank you for publishing your post, The Ghibli Art Studio Vibe, Artists Got Hurt, Choice of Art, Digital AI at Fingertips, and Consumer Experience at Peaks. Glad to have had it be my introduction to Ghibli season over on the bird app. ChatGPT's new 4o Image Generation and Studio Ghibli filter feature roll-outs struck gold. If you didn't post about it then, I might not have caught it as soon as I did, let alone have been as captivated by it.
I appreciate several points you made, such as:
- Subverted expectations of which domains would be most visibly automated by AI, which also ties into existing blinders for how prolific manual labor automation already is
- Being amazed at the availability of such a capability previously hidden behind esoteric bots or local models paired with configured software and strong enough GPUs
- The accessibility of AI features as described herding people toward realizing latent or unreachable preferences despite their lack of capability
- Your ending directive on articulation, which I also read as improving inputs to improve output of AIs and general activity
I would have emailed you this short note of appreciation, but I can't find any way to contact you on your blog. If you ever get around to reading this, feel free to post a response or send me an email if that suits your fancy.
Best,
Imperfect
P.S. It's awesome seeing sentiments from people saying that AI can't do something yet, instead of saying that it can't do something at all.
