grow emergent offshoots

In Blogging or thinking about blogging?, Robert wrote:

I’ve just written about things that interest me or thoughts I wanted to get out of my mind.

With over 400 posts and counting in under 2 years, I have followed suit. Many times, it's thanks to creatives like you choosing to learn in public. That's not all that has inspired me though. Hundreds of drafts and countless posts saved for reference indicate otherwise. Who knows how many of those works I will eventually remix or publish, whether here or through some other platform?

The whole exercise is an experiment of growing emergent offshoots. I'm figuring out my specialties and audience as I go. Not only do people understand that, but it encourages them to ship their own works in response. On a related note, I'd like to extend Robert's notes on thinking about doing the thing:

Speaking of having fun, I believe that it's crucial for keeping players like you in the game. Perhaps that's a solution for Daph's sentiment in Seeking Advice from Multi-Blog Bloggers?

It feels so silly thinking I'm back to dividing myself into multiple platforms and formats AGAIN.

You never step into the same river twice. Optimal solutions and even the problems they address change over time. Perhaps the power move is constant adaptation to your local conditions. If returning to multiple platforms feels silly in a negative light, can embracing that silliness in a positive light root out rumination?
