doers do
Inspired by Life rewards action, not intelligence. from Writer's Journal.
Besides writing, what does being a good writer mean to you? Your value judgment of good in this context might not meet mine or others'. Here is my comparison of writing poorly to writing well:
Writing poorly involves not writing at all. Without quantity, no quality judgment can be made. Prospective actors trip themselves up as they think about how to be intelligent over long swaths of time. The longer the distance between idea and execution, the higher the standards and expectations become.
Any semblance of writing is good per se, taking action over and with intelligence. Writing is but another muscle to train. Most people don't step up to the plate. When people do, they discover how easy it becomes after the first and second tries. The more you write, the larger your surface area to captivate people becomes. Help make your communication accessible for those that want to reciprocate.
Writing doesn't have to become an originality or popularity contest. Even with nothing new under the sun, new perspectives at different scales can be adopted. What's ubiquitous to you can be unknown to others. Introduce people to the words, messages, and ideas you want to share. Lend their words of wisdom your ear. Compete and collaborate with one another.
A writer writes, an actor acts, a doer does. How can you apply these insights into the disciplines of your choice?
