cool project discussions
Leonard's Cool Projects (HN) curates notable ones from this month's Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (Nov 2025) on Hacker News. On smaller scales, Lobsters asks both What are you doing this week? and What are you doing this weekend?. Surely many other websites have recurring discussions that chronicle what their users get up to.
These regular check-ins for cool projects have me wondering whether they can be adapted for vessels like blogs and adjacent social media outlets. Monthly blogging challenges and carnivals garner more than enough participation in the space to persist. I figure something similar, but for the cool projects that people are working on, couldn't hurt.
Leonard talks about one of the tools from the Hacker News submission that caught his eye, Criticly:
While I have not used this, I do like the direction they are trying to take by utilizing AI to help you think, not offloading the thinking to AI. I have made a few simple tools like this that I use almost daily and it has drastically improved my thinking (while using).
Do you have any tools that you made which drastically improve your thinking or otherwise? Leonard found inspiration, utility, and more from who knows how many HN replies. People can find the same from you sharing your projects and progress. Getting the right people warmer to your work can make everyone's potential that much cooler. Could you even find the right creative partner to make your dream a reality?
