co-create through whiteboards
Fran's Say hello page shares this invite:
I don't have comments or a guestbook but I do have an open whiteboard on TLDraw. No account necessary, just come and doodle or type or whatever
Could such a whiteboard be leveraged beyond a non-linear, more anonymous guestbook or comment section? How about for co-creative and possibly simultaneous efforts over time? Think sharing interests, organizing ideas, or collaborating on projects like the blog you most likely publish writing through.
Compared to rigid guestbooks and comment sections, dynamic whiteboards like the above allow everyone to influence how the deliverable evolves. However, whiteboard elements being fully editable, movable, and removable may demand hands-on moderation. Plentiful copying, exporting, or even importing defends against bad actors.
If a linear flow works for you and hands-off persistence is required, collaborative docs platforms could fit the bill. Some even permit features like edit permissions, inline suggestions, and guest contributions. That said, do whiteboards with features like those exist out there, while still not requiring accounts? Better yet, do whiteboards like TLDraw, Excalidraw, or otherwise already have those capabilities baked in?
