bedtime as victory
Inspired by Fabián's Go to Bed with a Win.
Going to bed can be a win in itself. It can show the world that you haven't yet given up. You still showed up. You maintained the momentum to hopefully live another day, if not many more.
Falling asleep can be a different matter. Sometimes, wins from the past day or beyond feel out of reach. Worse, the search can induce stress when no wins worth celebrating are found.
However, after having tucked yourself in, your job to be done doesn't have to be as active as that. It can instead respect your body's involuntary functions, like expressing your want to sleep but relinquishing how to consciously achieve it. You can also notice what keeps you awake, then choose to not do such things. Leave the journey to your dreams to forces beyond your control. May the rest you find be a massive weight off your shoulders and mind alike.
