ai or not
Inspired by RemainNA's Why I don't use AI.
Blogging or anything else being a hobby doesn't need to preclude you from using AI or any other tool for assistance or execution. Whether you want to blog with or without involving AI in your pipeline, go for it. The more blogs and posts people publish, the more insights readers have the possibility of enjoying or remixing.
Having friends help you with your blog can be great. Using AI or any other tool for the same purpose can also be great. If you disagree with either or both ideas, then blog how you see fit.
Labels ascribed to outputs of AI chat bots, image generators, and other tools get informed by many qualities. These include, but aren't limited to your taste, writing quality, LLM specs, inference engine specs, device or provider specs, etc. I suspect you might have more leverage than you think you do when it comes to making your AI outputs great. Then again, I don't have to make you use a tool you don't want to use. You are entitled to the opinion that bots produce bland, sterile, and edgy writing. Others will use different labels whether they are negative, neutral, or even positive.
I get how these bots don't have any lived experience. However, I don't follow how that wholly prevents conversations with them from being deemed interesting. One reason why anyone would bother reading a bot's generated output is that they could benefit from it like they could with human output. If you suspect a piece of writing doesn't have the features you want regardless of the benefits, then switch to reading something that meets you where you're at. Other people will take up the slack for the piece you left behind.
I use AI. Sometimes and for some use cases, I find it helpful, fun, and cool. Use it if you want to, don't use it if you don't. If you use it, use it how you want to.
